. Through the means of creativity, we can connect with the essence and fullness of who we really are. This is where the reservoir of healing resides. Producing and appreciating art is known to have measurable psychological and physiological healing properties. The healing arts are creative practices that promote healing, wellness, coping and personal change. You can get healed through art therapy by highlighting what you want to happen in the real world through art-making as you draw, paint or mold out what you intend for yourself. Once you can dream it, then, it is possible to attain. Art can harness the healing power within each of us and help bring us into community with one another. When in front of an artwork, we are connected to the artist and to others who have experienced it. And connection, to ourselves and others, is at the core of art and healing.
